While you were out...

I was out of town for the week at a conference in San Francisco (which is a lovely 70 degrees this time of year, who knew? I sure didn't, and it was a wonderful surprise to escape the heat for a few days!) and while I was gone, the three-some accomplished a lot!

Just to recap, this fall was going to be "phase one" of the kitchen, and if you've been tracking the progress, you've probably noticed that we made it through "phase one" in a matter of days, and we're now flying through "phase two", within days of completion of our little kitchen renovation project. Woo hoo! Finding deals on cabinets and other supplies moved us right along.

These photos are of Chris and Dad insulating the kitchen floor. We had hardwood nailed down to floor joists, which sit on the ground. In the 1920's they didn't put a sub-floor down like we do today. So the mystery of the frigid temperatures in the kitchen last winter, has been solved. We are looking forward to a toasty warm kitchen this winter!

This is one of my favorite photos thus far   ^   now that is teamwork!

Notice the old cabinets are on their way out - as well as the old sink and countertop.

Demolition on the south side of the house now, preparing to move the back door from the west side of the house, to the south side at the end of the hallway.

Since I was gone, mom caught this bit on video for me to watch. :)
