My Week with My Gigi

Fortunately, shortly after Nana headed back to Missouri, Gigi came out to stay with us! We were so thankful for her company and all she did in one quick week. She stayed with Amelia and helped out during my annual conference week, and her help during our busiest week of the entire year meant more than she will ever know! We're already booking her for the same week next year :)

Gigi brought Amelia her first Dolly (which Chris has named "Lama" - get it?) and we loved this photo of Amelia and Dolly sleeping together in the same pose.

Again, taking care of a little one is hard work! Even the best Gigi needs a nap sometimes!

Chris' New Love: Cycling

Chris has been enjoying lots of time on his bike this spring/summer. He bikes between work and home, and does long rides on the weekend. He participated in his first cycling tour in June and also a criterium in August. I'm so proud of him and am loving seeing his excitement for his new hobby!

My Month with My Nana

The month of July, my mom stayed with us as I returned back to work. Nana and Amelia spent lots of quality time together, and Amelia was spoiled with love. We were so thankful to have an extra set of hands around the house, and for Amelia to have some extra love too. I'm not sure who it was hardest on when Nana had to leave! We sure are looking forward to seeing her (and Papa!) again in September.

Summertime Wedding

This weekend was our second wedding of the summer and we enjoyed celebrating my colleague Joanna and her new husband, Justin. The weather was beautiful and we got to see a breathtaking Colorado sunset from a rooftop patio during the reception. And, we like that weddings give us an excuse to have a date night too!

Our First 9 Hour Night! And Month 3 Photo Update

Amelia is sleeping great, we're so proud of her! We've had several 12 hour nights, and we're averaging about a 9-10 hour night regularly. Something happened around the 12 week mark, and she suddenly decided to sleep straight thru the night. We're so thrilled, she's our little sleeper. Below are some photos from month 3, she's getting big and strong, and interacting a lot. She smiles all the time and is a very happy baby! Her favorite things are walks in the frontpack with mommy or in the stroller with Nana, baths with dad before bedtime, and putting anything in her mouth she can get ahold of. We moved her from sleeping in her carseat to sleeping in her crib, and she nuzzles her left cheek on her fuzzy lamb blanket to get cozy. Amelia also loves holding Sophie the Giraffe, looking at her balloon (we received when she was born and it's still floating!), kicking and moving her arms, and watching Jeopardy with dad.
